Oobuka was born spontaneously, with no premeditation or business plan. We only knew we needed a space in which we could experiment, where we could play with materials and give shape to our ideas.

We gave it an invented name that had no specific meaning and then granted it the freedom to morph into whatever it desired.

Today, it’s become our space; a workshop where we can develop our projects, a studio where we can investigate and connect with other creatives, a space where we can promote the culture of Design and good craftsmanship.

We have grown in Valencia, our adopted home town. We chose it for it’s beautiful climate, it’s countless sunny days (even during the winter period) and the huge extension of vegetable gardens and orchards that surround it. We thought it would be a friendly place where we could work and live,
and here we are

Whoever discovers our workshop, on a street of the old quarter, right in front of a giant ficus tree, will usually end up hanging out for a chat about our work, the city or life in general, just like in the old days of small businesses.

If you ever decide to pay us a visit, you’ll get the chance to enjoy the delightful fragrance of leather that fills the air, and to observe our work process. You’ll also be welcome to ask us any questions you may have about the process and the tools we use.

And you will
surely come back

Just like this customer who came back after 6 years to purchase the same bag he had bought the first time he visited us. (We also ended up updating the old one so that he could enjoy it for a bit longer.)

Or like the lovely American lady who came to see us, sent to us by one of our customers in San Francisco.

And those
who cannot visit

But follow us on our networks, and who appreciate and support our work, despite the virtuality of the experience. Like for instance Miss Oobuka, our Japanese fan, who one day contacted us to tell us that she loved our work and that, to our great surprise, Oobuka was her maiden name.

And those
who look for us

Who’s friends have recommended us; some of whom have visited us and started to send us photos of themselves with our accessories from all over the world.

Our objective isn't to produce large quantities. We tend not to accumulate stock. Normally our productions are either limited, custom made commissions or one-off pieces.

We try to be innovative in our search for solutions, focusing heavily on the design and the attention to detail.

Welcome to Oobuka!

We’re delighted to have you here.
