Circular Loom Workshop

Feel like taking a break and creating something with your hands? In this workshop, you will learn how to weave textile pieces on a round loom, from the first knot to the final finish. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to experiment with color, texture, and form.
During two sessions, you will explore different stitches and materials (jute, cotton, hemp) and go home with a unique, circular piece that can be decorative or for everyday use. The process is just as satisfying as the result.
It is a space to clear your mind, reconnect with your creativity, and discover that with a few basic stitches, the possibilities are infinite.
What you need to bring: enthusiasm, joy, and a notebook to sketch your design or jot down inspiring ideas. Everything else is included.
The Program
On the first day, we will begin with a theoretical introduction: applications of the circular loom, and the selection of colors and materials. Then, we will prepare the loom and practice basic stitches by creating a small sample to keep as a reference. To finish, we will set up the warp of our final loom and design our piece on paper.
On the second day, we put everything into practice: we will weave our final piece using the colors, stitches, and design chosen the previous day. And when we're done, you take it home with you.
Your Teacher
The workshop is taught by Alejandra Rojas, a Fine Arts graduate and Textile Artist trained at the University of Chile, Santiago de Chile. She is currently a partner and designer at Oobuka, a company she founded along with her partner Ruggero Lupo.
